These are some frequently asked questions about cancersimplified.org with answers from its Chairman, Duncan N. Darrow.

Q. Why a website?
A. It’s the easiest way to make our 44 flip charts widely available. After all, we really are a "web-based" business.

Q. Who visits the website?
A. From the feedback we get (because the site is interactive) it seems that most visitors are cancer patients and their caregivers, and come from all over the place.

Q. How many visitors per month to your homepage?
A. Several thousand.



Q. How do visitors use your site?
A. Most seem to scroll through all the charts - which was our hope when we designed the site. In many cases visitors "download" the entire suite of flip charts.

Q. What about visitor feedback?
A. The site’s feedback feature has turned out to be very popular and many visitors have given us useful ideas to improve or expand the flip charts.

Q. Will you send out printed copies of the booklet?
A. Yes, but if a large supply is requested we ask for help in defraying the cost of printing and postage. And we discuss those costs on a case-by-case basis.

Q. Are you a non-profit corporation?
A. Yes. In 2008 we were incorporated in the State of New York as a non-profit corporation.

Q. Are donations tax-deductible?
A. Yes, because we have applied to the IRS for certified status as a "501(c)(3)" charitable organization.

Q. Where are you based?
A. We have a tiny space within the offices of a larger nonprofit, that operates out of a Victorian home in the historic district of Sag Harbor – a former whaling village located on the East End of Long Island.

Q. Do you expect many donations?
A. Hopefully visitors to the site
will send checks or make "econtributions." We already have received some seed capital.
